Manchester United midfielder Mason Mount feared to be out for a month with calf injury

Mason Mount is feared to be out for a month after suffering a calf injury ahead of Manchester United’s game against Everton on Sunday.

Mount, 24, is a doubt for the trip to Goodison Park with his manager Erik ten Hag confirming that the England international is set to be assessed ahead of the Premier League fixture this weekend. Ten Hag said: “Mason picked up an issue so we have to assess if he’s available for the game or not.”

There are concerns that he will miss the game against Chelsea on December 6, the first chance the midfielder would have had to face his former club since making his £60million ($75.7m) move to United in the summer transfer window.

Mount has endured a difficult start to life at Old Trafford. Injuries have limited him to just 12 appearances this season for his new club, the majority of those being as a substitute.

Andre Onana will be fit to face Everton, as will Luke Shaw who returned to training during the international break after a three-month absence.

Rasmus Hojlund still needs to be assessed after being forced off during the 1-0 Premier League win over Luton Town before the international break.

United will be without Christian Eriksen after the midfielder withdrew from the Denmark squad due to a knee injury sustained against Luton earlier this month.
